ShoreScore is provided by ShoreScore LLC for general informational purposes only. The ShoreScore, Best Window, Current Sky, and all conditions shown (including weather, rain, clouds, temperature, water quality, seaweed, and storm information) are estimates compiled from third-party data and may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable.
Do not rely on ShoreScore for safety, health, or emergency decisions. It is not a substitute for official sources or professional judgment. Before entering the water or planning around weather, check authoritative sources such as the National Weather Service, local lifeguards and authorities, and the Florida Department of Health's water quality advisories. Ocean conditions, rip currents, lightning, and water contamination can change rapidly and may not be reflected here.
The Beachgoer Score and any beachgoer-submitted input are unverified and reflect the opinions of other users, not ShoreScore LLC. You use ShoreScore and act on its information entirely at your own risk.
By accessing or using ShoreScore you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
ShoreScore LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use ShoreScore for your own non-commercial use. You agree not to: scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data; access the service through automated means or at a volume that burdens our infrastructure; interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service; or manipulate, inflate, or falsify beachgoer votes or other content.
ShoreScore is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShoreScore LLC and its members will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of (or inability to use) ShoreScore or from reliance on any information it provides.
We may modify or discontinue the service or these Terms at any time; continued use means you accept the changes. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
ShoreScore is built to collect as little as possible, and the whole app works without an account. Signing in is entirely optional - it exists only to back up your beach passport and preferences across your devices. When you do sign in, you give us an email address (and, if you choose, a display name); we keep that separate from the anonymous, aggregate usage numbers that help us run and grow the app.
We use third parties to operate ShoreScore, including Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), and data sources such as Open-Meteo, NOAA / the National Weather Service, and the Florida Department of Health. Usage analytics are handled in our own database rather than by an outside analytics company. We also load map tiles from a map-tiles provider, which, like any web request, sees your device's IP to deliver the map. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies.
We never sell the personal information you give us, and we don't use tracking cookies to build a profile of you. Anonymous, aggregate statistics are different: they contain no personal information, and we may share them with partners and advertisers to support ShoreScore. If we ever show ads or partner links in the app, we'll do it without selling your personal information. ShoreScore is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
You can clear your device identifier and preferences at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, and you can decline or revoke location permission in your browser settings. The Delete my data control below removes everything at once, including what is stored on our servers.
This removes your beachgoer check-ins, your usage history, and any feedback you sent from our database, cancels beach alerts if you turned them on, and clears everything ShoreScore saved on this device. Nothing is kept afterwards and there is no retention period: the rows are deleted, not archived.
If you signed in to back up your data, you can delete the account itself at any time. In the ShoreScore app or on the web: open the You tab, find the Account card, and tap Delete my account, then confirm.
That permanently deletes your sign-in record and your email address, along with the backed-up copy of your beach passport and your YourScore settings. It cannot be undone, nothing is retained afterwards, and no retention period applies. What is saved on your own device is left alone so the app keeps working signed out; use Delete my data above to clear that too. If you cannot reach the app, email ShoreScore LLC at legal@shorescore.app from the address on the account and we will delete it for you.
